Sounds like an anti-aerobatics site, but no:
"ScaryLittleAirplanes.org is a grass roots organization of pilots, aircraft owners and business owners who are scared. We’re scared that we’re going to lose our businesses, our aircraft and even our lives. We’re scared that the erosion of our freedom to fly is symptomatic of the erosion of personal liberty that started long before the attacks. We’re scared that the post 9/11 “protections” our government has put in place is little more than window dressing. Our mission is to educate our fellow Americans about the General Aviation, and how miniscule the threat actually is, and to lobby the government for the restoration of our freedom to fly."
Anyone else seen it yet? Any comments?

Thanks. Wish I could say I'm amazed that so many people out there think that little 172s or Cherokees are grave threats to the safety of millions of people, but I'm not. Sadly, it's a common belief; even people who know me quite well think that the 172s I fly -- that can barely climb on a hot day with four average-sized people inside them -- can be used as a weapon of mass destruction. Never mind that a well-placed truck could do infinitely more psychological and physical damage.
I guess between the cost of fuel and the longer-term security issues, etc., GA currently seems to be dying a slow death. I'm glad I can still afford it and that I can still pass all the security tests required for a ramp pass at Oakland -- but I wonder how long all that will last?

I joined up, but I'm having trouble accessing forums after logging in. Tried IE instead, but to no avail.
Whenever I talk to friends about flying, half the time they ask about crashing into things... It must be the video-games.
My dad was a paramedic for 21 years. A Cessna 172 crashed near the VOR by Concord Muni in the '80's, and his Rescue was dispatched. He says that the wreckage didn't resemble an airplane. It just tore apart. I think what many non-aviators fail to realize is that our planes are designed to be as a light as possible. They aren't flying tanks.
