I thought only those of us in Canada (or Canadians transplanted to the US) cared about hockey? -dr

MN native who went to college at UND in Grand Forks ND. That's about close as one can get to being Canadian without beady eyes & floppy jaws (sorry, gratuitous south park reference!).
Actually, having lived in SoCal the last few seasons, I haven't followed the NHL much. I didn't care for the Mighty Ducks and had neither the time nor money to make it to the Pond much. I have, however, been following the MN Wild a bit since their inception.

yeah, I guess there's that *other* SoCal hockey team... I guess I'm just of the school that finds professional hockey teams south of the 40th parallel a little strange...prolly goes back to my bitterness over the North Stars moving to Dallas... ;D

Hockey? Isn't that the game played by many hundreds of millions of people around the world on grass fields? One of the national sports of Britain, Australia, India, Pakistan, etc.?
Oh, you mean Ice Hockey... Sorry. I'll shut up now :-).

Ahh...listening to the Kings v. Coyotes pre-season game online right now. Kings up 2-1 in the middle of the 2nd period.
So glad the NHL is back in business. Can't wait to get to my first regular-season game!
