Went up in a Cherokee for the first time a couple days ago. Nice little ride I must say. Shot some approaches in it (wow.. am I rusty!!!) A guy I work with here at OO EUG just bought it (or I should say his family did). He's gonna try and build up a small charter business with it down in SAN... not sure how that's gonna work out, but best of luck to him. Any thoughts on this little bird?

I've got a few hundred hours in them, and I've gotta say I prefer high-wings to low-wings.

I've spent time in both and I think I prefer the Cherokee. If you're taking the family sightseeing, though, or flying into a short grass strip, I'll take a 172 every time.

I've given a few hundred hours of dual in various flavors of the PA28. I find them a bit more stable, especially during landing, than all but the latest model 172s. I like the manual flaps and the visibility afforded in the pattern, too.
But I agree that for sightseeing or for short or soft field use, Cessna is hard to beat.
